The acquisition of Washington House will add another 28,000 sq ft of sophisticated elegance and luxury to the hotel and will open this autumn. The expansion will be a glorious addition to The Westbury’s four existing function rooms, which currently caters up to 120 guests.
In total, there will be 9 new function rooms, over two floors, in addition to The Westbury’s existing private dining and function rooms. Continuing with The Westbury’s current decor, these new spaces will be designed by Alex Kravetz, who recently oversaw the £25 million refurbishment throughout the hotel, including our four elegantly decorated event spaces. Our new rooms will be able to cater for any event and each shall be tailored to meet individual needs.
With the already hugely successful Artisan, and the Polo Bar, The Westbury is proud to announce a new destination restaurant to be developed within the new acquisition. This new restaurant will continue to enhance the culinary experience at The Westbury.
The Westbury are extremely excited about the expansion and we would be delighted to welcome your guests to Washington House.

Formula 1 2009 British Grand Prix At Silverstone 19/20/21 June
The 2008 British Grand Prix will long be remembered as a classic Formula One encounter. As the rain battered the Silverstone circuit, Lewis Hamilton put in one of the performances of his career to stand head and shoulders above his rivals and secure a popular home victory. On a day in which even the most experienced Formula One drivers struggled to keep their cars on track, Hamilton stole the show. Who will be newly triumphant this year?
This season's Grand Prix is expected to see record breaking crowds assemble in Northamptonshire to welcome home the reigning world champion, and the youngest in the sport's history, Britain's Lewis Hamilton. The entire race weekend looks certain to buzz with an enormous party spirit as we hope to celebrate a British hero whether in Jenson or Lewis.
We also have access to the Grand Prix Ball in Stowe. Contact: Alistair@emc3.eu for further details

Wimbledon Party At The Valmont Club 2nd July 09 From 8pm
THE VALMONT CLUB
THE VALMONT CLUB - CONCEPT
THE VALMONT CLUB - DESIGN
The Valmont Club boasts a complete makeover courtesy of Makilee Design, the creative agency behind a number of leading bars & restaurants across the UK including The Breakfast Club, Soho and Lost Society, Clapham.
Juxtaposing subdued colours and soft, comfortable furnishings with bright neon statement signage, The Valmont Club is split into 4 main areas. Design details of note include a 60ft sheer black glass-topped bar, banquette seating areas separated by gold beaded curtains and a series of private velvet-curtained booths with individual music volume control.
The entire venue has been adorned with traditional sculptures, paintings and antique furniture items. Neon, black glass and velvet drapes are recurring themes, and there are several art deco statues and figurines from a private collector in New York. There is original antique lighting imported from Holland, and gold etched tables imported from Paris.
THE VALMONT CLUB - DRINKS
General Manager of The Valmont Club Thierry Brocher has previously consulted for a number of the most celebrated London cocktail bars including Momo and Che. Brocher has designed a 60 strong cocktail menu that includes seven signature Champagne cocktails and a number of contemporary variations on the classics, using seasonal fruits and fresh ingredients throughout the year.
With the exception of the Mojito, each cocktail can be served in a vintage Chambord bottle and customers can choose their glassware from a range including shooters, tall, Martini and Dom Perignon Sniffers (for 2 people). Brocher places a strong emphasis on training his barstaff to provide consistently produced cocktails, and implements an in-house training programme for all his team.

Sport Of Kings - Polo Matches & Events In The UK
When is the Polo Season?
The main polo season in the UK is from May to September and indoor or arena polo is played throughout the winter. For the high goal players and many professionals the first high goal tournament in UK is The Prince of Wales Trophy (Royal County of Berkshire) held at the end of May. This is followed by The Queen's Cup (Guards), The Warwickshire Cup (Cirencester), The Gold Cup (Cowdray), and finally the Cartier International held at Guards at the end July.
The Game of Polo
The Ground
It is 300 yards long by 200 yards wide although if it is boarded it need only be 160 yards wide. The goalposts, open at the top, are 8 yards apart.
Duration of Play
There are 4 to 6 'chukkas' in a match and each one lasts for 7 minutes of actual play. At present, though due to change, when the ball goes out of play, or the whistle is blown, the clock is stopped and only restarted when the umpire calls 'Play'. At the end of the period a bell goes to signify that the 7 minutes are up, however there is a further 30 seconds of play unless the whistle is blown, the ball hits the boards, or the ball goes out of play. This extra 30 seconds does not apply to the last chukka unless the scores are equal. Should a match be drawn a 'sudden death' (i.e. first to score) chukka maybe played, and if still a draw at the end of that chukka, another one is played with the goalposts widened. There is an interval of 3 minutes between chukkas but 5 minutes at half time when traditionally spectators are invited to tread in the divots.
